Early Birds and Night Owls are a safe and secure extended school provision which provides wraparound childcare for Pirton Hill parents and a before and after school club which children enjoy and look forward to.

The dedicated room is at the heart of the school building – offering the children a familiar setting to relax in (a real home-from-home) whilst also offering parents the reassurance of being able to drop off and collect children at school each day, without the need for additional journeys to a childminder.

The Early Birds and Night Owls staff provide a range of activities to cater for the interests and ages of the children attending – and the children also have some input into these. 

The sessions also include breakfast (morning only) and a healthy snack (afternoon only).

The Early Birds and Night Owls Staff have created a healthy, nutritious menu that runs over a three-week rotation, ensuring that the children are able to choose from a range of tasty food options. They have also created themed days when a special breakfast or after-school snack will be available. 

Costs

From September 2025:

• Early Birds - £4.50 per session
• Night Owls - £10.80 per session

Bookings

Sessions must be booked online via the Weduc app. You can book a session up to 30 minutes before the session starts, as long as places are available. Please note that we are limited to 20 children per session, so we advise all parents/carers to book well in advance where possible. We will do our best to support those who need emergency / ad hoc care, but cannot guarantee places at short notice.

Cancellations

Cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to the start of the session. This will entitle the parent / carer to a credit. As staffing / food has to be arranged in advance, a missed session without prior cancellation will not be eligible for a credit.

Late Collection

We operate a strict collection time policy for Night Owls. If your child is collected after the club finish time of 6pm, a late collection fee will apply to cover our additional costs. This will be charged to your Weduc account and must be paid within 7 days. We reserve the right to block any further bookings until the debt is cleared.

• Late Collection Fee - £5.00 plus £5.00 for every additional 15 minutes (or part thereof)*

*Please note that the Late Collection Fee of £5.00 applies immediately at the stated end time of the session:

• 1 to 15 minutes late incurs a £5.00 charge.
• 16 to 30 minutes late incurs a further £5.00 charge etc.

How to Register
Every child must be registered before they can attend Early Birds or Night Owls.

A registration form needs to be completed; this ensures that Early Birds / Night Owls are able to care for your child, keep them safe and meet Ofsted requirements.

Registration is completed through a Form using the Weduc Parent App.  Please ask at the school office if you require further information. 

Please note that you only need to complete the registration form the first time you register your child for out-of-hours care. You do not need to submit a new form with each booking, unless any details have changed. You will be asked to complete a new form at the start of each academic year.
