Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
A huge thank you to all those parents / carers who were able to come to support our Christmas performance this morning.
Like with the Christmas Fair last week, we were very lucky with the weather. We really didn't want to cancel (due to covid restrictions) - the children would have been so disappointed - so we are so pleased it went ahead and so many parents / carers came to enjoy it.
In our Key Stage 2 assembly today we talked about racism and racist behaviour.
In our assembly, we defined racism as: when you treat someone differently and unfairly because:
We reminded the children that it is unacceptable and illegal. We also gave some ideas of what to do it they see someone being racist and encouraged anyone to report any racism that they witness (a parent / carer, a teacher or Childline [0800 1111]).
Please spend some time talking about racism at home with your child(ren) - so that they understand what it is and why it is unacceptable. This applies to all children; racist incidents can and do occur between any ethnic groups.
There are some really good videos published by the Premier League of players talking about racism, they available here -> https://plprimarystars.com/resources/no-room-for-racism-videos
Incidents of this nature are very rare but we will only be satisfied when they do not occur at all. Racist incidents are not acceptable and will be sanctioned in line with our Behaviour Policy.
