School Uniform

"We show pride in Pirton Hill and arrive ready to learn"

Children are expected to wear full school uniform each day.

Our school uniform consists of:

  • Pirton Hill Primary School sweatshirt or cardigan (or Royal Blue alternative)
  • White polo shirt or white buttoned shirt (which must be tucked in)
  • Black or grey trousers, skirt, pinafore dress or shorts (during warm weather).  Shorts must be plain black or grey (no logos - not even small ones). Cycling shorts / hot pants are not allowed.
  • Plain black, plain white or plan grey school socks. White school socks with blue gingham ribbons are acceptable.
  • Grey or black tights (in winter)
  • Blue gingham dress / playsuit (during warm weather)
  • Plain black school shoes - with no coloured branding or markings – and black laces

Please also be aware that high heels, boots above the ankle or flip flop style sandals are not appropriate

  • Hair tied back with Royal Blue, Black or White hairband (if beyond the shoulder length)
  • Head scarves or turbans (Black, Royal Blue or White)

Permitted Jewellery - One pair of small plain stud earrings can be worn along with a suitable child’s wrist watch.  One fabric religious band is also permitted, if applicable.  During PE, children will be expected to remove earrings or cover them up with tape for their own safety

Please be aware that if a child arrives:

  • in the incorrect uniform (including shoes) – we will contact parents / carers immediately and expect them to bring the correct uniform to school
  • wearing jewellery, they will be asked to remove it and it will be sent to the office for their parent / carer to collect

P.E Kit

All children are expected to wear P.E. kit when doing P.E./Games in school. We recommend P.E. kits come into school on a Monday and go home to be washed on a Friday.

We expect all children to wear:

  • Plain White T-shirt or polo shirt (separate from uniform polo shirt) - no logos, markings or designs
  • Plain Black Shorts (above the knee - no hot pants or cycling shorts) - no logos, markings or designs
  • Trainers
  • Plain Black Tracksuit for outside - no logos, markings or designs

For health and safety reasons, tights should not be worn for any aspect of P.E. and socks should not be worn for dance/gym activities.

Children will also be expected to remove earrings or cover them up with tape during PE lessons.

If you need support with uniform, please come and see Theresa Burton in school.  We have good links to a local charity, Level Trust, who run a Uniform Exchange in The Mall and also provide us with shoe and coat vouchers which you can redeem in local shops.   Have a look at the link below for more information:
